Diner En Blanc Las Vegas

My friend and I got to attend the ultra swanky Diner En Blanc event in Las Vegas. For those who don't know what DIner En Blanc is it's pretty much a fancy picnic where everyone dresses in white. Here's the fun part... when you arrive at your pick-up/bus location you have no idea where you're going. The location of the picnic is told to you when you get on the bus. So you do all this planning and have zero idea where you're going to be having this picnic. This year we were totally surprised when we pulled up to the gate of Wayne Newton's home  Casa de Shenandoah. It was stunning. We got off the buses in total awe. We were directed
to where we were to setup our tables and chairs. My friend Mary and I setup up rather quickly
and got our food warming. I used two of the aqua heat warmers by Innobaby to warm our
chicken breasts and potatoes. I actually had those warming while we were setting up the table.
Once we got everything setup we went over to take pictures with the big Diner en Blanc letters.
Then we did the famous DEB napkin wave. Which we actually missed while standing in line
for photosbut that's ok we got to stand and see all the napkins wave across the lawn. It was
beautiful. Next it was time for dinner. I did a meat and cheese tray, salad in a jar , grilled
chicken, carrots and mashed potatoes. We were free to eat for as long as we wanted. When the
sunset it was time for the sparkler wave to openthe dance floor. We actually got to take part
in that lol. When the dance floor opened everyone rushed for it. We danced all night. It was
so much fun. We also got a chance to walk around Wayne Newton's property and see all of
the animals and the grounds. It was a beautiful night. At the end of the night it was time to
clean up. We had to pack all of our things back into our bags and haul them back to the bus.
Which of course were NOT parked where they were supposed to be.  I also realized I'm fat
and out of shape. So you know...I gotta hit the gym or something All in all it was an amazing
night and we're going to do it again next year.

The History of Diner En Blanc:

The Dîner en Blanc concept began in Paris in 1988 when Frenchman François Pasquier invited a group of friends to an elegant outdoor dinner at Bois de Boulogne, asking them to dress in white so they could find each other. The event's presence has grown to over 70 cities, with almost 15,000 gathering for the 25th-anniversary event in Paris.
Pasquier's son, Aymeric, introduced the concept to Montreal, Canada in 2009. The event made its New York debut in 2011.
In 2012, Singapore was the first Asian city to host a Dîner en Blanc, and Brisbane the first Australian city.Canberra held Dîners en Blanc in 2013 and 2014, Melbourne debuted the phenomenon in 2015,.
